Victorian Plumbing Trade Account Redesign

Victorian Plumbing
Trade Account login page redesign

This redesign was supported by the Marketing and Trade team to solve existing usability issues with the Trade Account pre-login pages, most notably an issue with users frustrated they couldn’t locate the Sign-in form. In the redesign, the internal Trade team wanted to highly emphasise all of the trade account benefits, including the increasing trade bands discounts and to increase the significance that trade discounts can be applied to all products on the Victorian Plumbing website.

Firstly, a questionnaire was sent to the Trade team to gather requirements on what they would like to see in the re-design of the Trade Account pages. This questionnaire collected data on their opinions of the current pages, understand their frustrations and what improvements they would like to see in the re-designs.

Before designing the wireframes, I performed a heuristic evaluation on the existing pages to identify any additional usability issues that need to be addressed in the redesign. Then, I looked at our identified competitors to see how they advertise their trade accounts and design their account form. The results of the Discovery phase were compiled into a list of User and Product requirements. These were referred to throughout the design process to ensure that we kept the user in mind (see requirements).
