I volunteered to redesign the current inconsistent and unstructured website for the popular open-source Pixel Experience Android ROM, the central location where users can download the custom Android OS for their Android devices.
I wanted to make the website more clear and modern by increasing the white space between the elements to help users digest the vast amounts of technical information. I also used imagery and icons widely, along with injecting bright colours taken from the Material Design palette to make the experience more engaging.
I began the designs with paper wireframes, which translated into low-fidelity wireframes and then high-fidelity wireframes. The final designs were chosen from a pool of entries as they reflected the new brand Pixel Experience was going for.
I worked with a developer based in India who built the front-end and back-end based on my designs, along with support from the wider global Pixel Experience group.
